The Transmission Electronic Control Unit (TECU) receives the vehicle’s eXternal Brake Request (XBR) System State message, associated to the vehicle Collision Mitigation System (CMS), over the Primary Data Link. This information is used to determine transmission operation.
The TECU monitors the XBR System State message. If a failure is detected the fault is set Active.
FMI 13 - Out of Calibration: XBR System State message is not available or TECU is not properly configured for 5 seconds.
FMI 19 - Received Network Data In Error: XBR System State message invalid for 5 seconds.

Set vehicle parking brake and chock wheels.
Record the transmission fault codes, FMIs, occurrences, and timestamps from the Service Activity Report created during the Diagnostic Procedure.
If Fault Code 24 is Inactive, and there are other Active vehicle or transmission fault codes, troubleshoot all Active fault codes. Go to Step V
If Fault Code 24 FMI 13 is Active, Go to Step B
If Fault Code 24 FMI 13 is Inactive, External Braking Integration configuration is properly configured. Go to Step V
If Fault Code 24 FMI 19 is Active or Inactive, refer to OEM guidelines regarding repair or replacement of the vehicle’s XBR System State associated to CMS. Go to Step V
