Failure to follow indicated procedures creates a high risk of personal injury to the servicing technician.
Failure to follow indicated procedures may cause component damage or malfunction.

Before starting a vehicle:
- Ensure adequate fuel level.
- Sit in the driver’s seat.
- Place shift lever in neutral.
- Set the parking brake.
- Do not operate the vehicle if Alternator light is lit or if gauges indicate low voltage.
Before working on a vehicle or leaving the cab with engine running:
- Ensure ignition is off while hands are within the clutch housing area.
- Place shift lever in neutral.
- Set the parking brake.
- Chock wheels.
When parking the vehicle or leaving the cab:
- Place shift lever in neutral.
- Set the parking brake.
Do not release the parking brake or attempt to select a gear until the air pressure is at the correct level.
To avoid damage to the transmission during towing:
- Place shift lever in neutral.
- Lift the drive wheels off of the ground or disconnect the driveline.
