The Endurant HD transmission incorporates enhanced controls that allow the driver to select a different transmission performance mode to suit vehicle operating conditions.
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) can be configured with two selectable performance modes, a Primary and a Secondary, each providing different launch characteristics and shift strategies for improved performance in specific driving conditions, on and off highway. Reference Endurant HD Driver Instructions TRDR0955 for Secondary Configuration Mode operation.
The TCM monitors the Primary and Secondary performance mode configuration. If the configuration is invalid, the fault is set Active.
